1 medium to large potato per person
milk
butter or margarine
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
You can either peel the potatoes or not -

Cut potatoes into quarters and place in a large saucepan, cover with water.

Bring water to boil and then simmer until potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes or so)

Drain potatoes - place in large bowl:

For mashed potatoes - using a masher or fork, break up the potatoes - add milk, butter and salt and pepper to taste

For whipped potatoes - using an electric mixer, mix the potatoes, milk, butter and salt and pepper, until smooth and there are no lumps.
