2 tbl. butter or margarine
2 tbl. flour
1 c. milk (or half & half)
sat and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and salt and pepper and stir together until smooth. Gradually stir in the milk, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth.

This is a basic sauce and by adding other things you can make almost any type of cream sauce that you would like:

Add cheese (a cup or so) to make a cheese sauce - add a dash of dry mustard or a tsp. of spicy mustard - add mushrooms - whatever you like! Just season to taste
