1 medium loaf of Italian or sourdough bread
1/2 c. parmesan cheese, fresh grated if possible
1/2 c. mozzarella cheese, or whatever cheese you like
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 tsp. italian herbs, dried
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion salt
1 T. chives, finely chopped

Preheat oven to 425F. Cut bread into slices being careful not to cut all the way through. Place loaf on a baking sheet. In a small mixing bowl with a spatula, combine cheeses, mayo, butter or margarine, and all seasonings and mix well. Spread mixture evenly inside all slices of bread and a little over the top. Bake bread until golden, about 12 minutes.
