1 lb. finely chopped walnuts
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 lb. phyllo pastry sheets
3 stick melted butter

2 c. water
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice and lemon zest
3/4 c. honey

Directions:
Directions:
combine nuts, sugar and cinnamon in small bowl.
Keep phyllo pastry covered with a moist cloth. Place 8 sheets in the bottom of a greased pan. Brush sheets with melted butter. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup nut mixture. Layer 2 sheets pastry sheets and alternate mix/butter/pastry until all is used up.

Cut with a sharp knife into diamond shapes. Preheat oven to 300. Place a pan of water on the lowest shelf in the oven. Place Baklava on middle shelf above water and bake for 2 hours or until golden brown. Make sure water pan stays full.

Sauce: Combine water, sugar, lemon and zest and bring to boil. Simmer for 15 min. Add honey and simmer another 5 min. Remove lemon zest. Let cool pour over hot pastry.
