2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick margarine or butter
4 T. cocoa (heaping)
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
Frosting:
1 stick margarine or butter
4 T. cocoa
6 T. milk
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Brownies: Preheat oven to 375F. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar and flour. In a saucepan bring to a rapid boil, margarine or butter, cocoa, shortening, and water. Add hot mixture to dry ingredients and stir well. In another mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, cinnamon, eggs, vanilla, and baking soda. Add buttermilk mixture together with other ingredients. Bake on a 10X15-inch jelly roll pan for 20 minutes. Frost while cake is still warm.
Frosting: Melt together margarine or butter, cocoa, and milk. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Frost the cake and sprinkle with nuts.
