Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1 Tbsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Salt
Buttermilk (enough to make dough a medium consistency)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Add buttermilk a little at a time until dough is of a medium consistency, not too soft. Pour a small amount of liquid shortening into a baking pan and place in oven to heat. Remove from oven after the shortening has heated and pour a little of the shortening into the dough mixture and stir in. Pour dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently until the dough is covered in flour and rounded into a ball. Flatten the ball to about 3/4 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter that has been dipped in flour to cut-out biscuits. Place cut biscuits into the baking pan making sure the side down is coated with the shortening in the pan, then turn the biscuit over so that the greased side is up.
Bake at 400 degrees until tops are golden brown.

Personal Notes:
Everyone always loved Mom's homemade biscuits. We had to "guesstimate" the ingredients, so hopefully they turn out right. I imagine she has made a truckload of these in her day. Many times at our family reunion she would get up and make enough biscuits and gravy for everyone in the camp. She still would if she could.
