2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
1/2 c. softened butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. confectioner's sugar
2 eggs
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1 c. cherry pie filling
1/2 pt. whipping cream, whipped or Cool Whip

Directions:
Directions:
Using a pie dish, place 1 c. of vanilla wafers on the bottom. In a mixing bowl beat until creamy the butter or margarine, sugar, and eggs. Pour over wafer layer and smooth to the edges of the dish. Layer the walnuts over the batter mixture. Next, layer the cherry pie filling over the nuts and smooth to the edge of the dish. Top with whipped cream or cool whip, spreading evenly over the cherries. Sprinkle the remaining 1 c. of vanilla wafers on top. Chill for at least 3 hours or overnight.
