1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar, plus 1/3 c. sugar for rolling dough
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. In a medium mixing bowl, combine shortening, sugar, and eggs. In a second mixing bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Pour the wet mixture into the dry and mix well. In a small bowl, mix 1/3 c. sugar with cinnamon. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat lightly with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on cookie sheet and flatten slightly, keeping cookies at least 1-inch apart. Bake for 7-10 minutes. Cool cookies on a wire rack.
