Brownies:
1 c. plus 1 tsp. of vegetable shortening
2 c. sugar
4 large eggs
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
2 ozs. semisweet chocolate, chopped
2 ozs. milk chocolate, chopped
2 ozs. white chocolate, chopped
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Icing:
1 lb. confectioner's sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 lb. cream cheese, at room temperature
2 T. milk

Brownies: Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 17 X 12-inch baking pan with 1 tsp. of shortening. In a large, heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt the remaining 1 c. of shortening. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly. In a mixing bowl, add the sugar and shortening, blend well. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking after each addition. Add the water and vanilla and whisk to mix well. Add the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir to blend. Fold in the nuts and chopped chocolate, then spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 30 minutes. Spread the frosting over the cake with a spatula. Slice and serve!
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Icing:
Sift together the confectioner's sugar and cinnamon. In a medium mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the milk and sugar mixture and beat on low until incorporated. Increase speed and beat until smooth.
