2 1/2 c. ripe pears, peeled and cubed
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 cinnamon stick (broken in half)
1 pkg. frozen or fresh cranberries
1 to 1 1/4 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, combine pears, water, ginger, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Stir in cranberries and sugar and return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes or until cranberries have popped and sauce is slightly thickened, stirring several times. Discard cinnamon stick. Mash sauce if desired. Cool, cover and refrigerate.
