1 1/2 C. Corn Meal
1/2 C. Flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 C. Buttermilk
1/4 C. sugar ( optional )
2 Tbsp. melted Shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients, then add remaining and mix well. Pour into reheated greased 10 or 12 inch iron skillet or bread pans of your choice. Bake in preheated 400 to 425 oven.
