1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring (optional)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix ingredients. Chill. Roll out, cut out and then bake at 375 for 7-8 minutes.

These cookies are light and crispier than most sugar cookies. I usually double the batch. This recipe was originally called Mary's Sugar Cookies but when I found out Dorothy Brandt makes these too I named my recipe after her cause she's a great cook. 1970.
