1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
3/4 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 4 ingredients. Stir in milk and vanilla. Measure in flour, soda and salt. Mix in nuts. Chill for 1 hour. Heat oven t 400. Drop by teaspoons 2" apart onto greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes. Frost when cool.
