5 squares bitter chocolate
1/4 lb butter
1 large can evaporated milk
1 lb confectioners sugar
dash of salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cook in double boiler.
Melt butter and chocolate - I nuke the chocolate 15 seconds first to save time.
Add milk, confectioner's sugar, and salt.
Stir often (don't forget) for about a half hour.
Remove from heat and add vanilla.

2 small cans of evaporated milk can be used, instead of the large can.

This is a recipe from my late friend, Inge Meader. It is used by many members of The First Congregational Church, West Haven, CT , who call it Inge's Sauce.
It is delicious over vanilla ice cream
