Batter:
1 lemon sliced thin
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sugar
1 tbs butter
2 tbs butter
1 egg
2 cups watter
1/2 cup milk (scant)

1/2 cup flour

2 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
To make syrup: Boil the syrup ingredients for 15 minutes.
To make batter: Cream sugar and butter, add egg and beat well. Mix in the milk. Combine flour and baking powder and add. Mix well.
Pour the batter into a buttered baking dish. (~1 quart size.) Pour in the syrup. Bake at 350F for 35-45 minutes.
