4 Eggs 3 C. Milk, scalded
1/2 C. Sugar 1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 tsp. Salt 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs slightly, add sugar and salt. Slowly stir in hot scalded milk and vanilla. Bake in 425 oven for 25-30 minutes (lower rack)

Mom (Clelta Hummer) said Grandma Hummer told her that the secret to custard pie is to use scalded milk. Mom's crust is included later.
