2 C. Flour 1/2 C. Buttermilk
2 C. Sugar 1 tsp. Soda
1 stick Oleo, or 1/2 C. shortening 2 Eggs, slightly beaten
4 T. Cocoa 1 tsp. Vanilla
1 C. water

FROSTING:
1 stick Oleo 1 box Powdered Sugar
4 T. Cocoa 1/4 tsp. Vanilla
1/3 C. Milk 1 C. Pecans(opt.)

Bring to boil. Remove from heat, add box of powdered sugar and vanilla
(nuts if you choose), spread on cake while hot.

Preheat oven to 400 (I do 350). Sift 2 cups flour and 2 cups sugar in large bowl. In saucepan melt 1 stick of oleo, 4 T. cocoa and 1 cup water. Bring to a rapid boil. To dry ingredients add 1/2 cup buttermilk, 1 teaspoon soda, 2 eggs, slightly beaten and mix well, Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add cocoa, shortening mixture last. Pour on well greased cookie sheet with sides. The batter will be thin. Bake in oven for 15 minutes.

Prepare frosting as soon as cake is in the oven. This is very good, easy to fix, and doesn't last long.
