1 1/2 c (3 sticks) unsalted butter, plus more for pan
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
3 c sugar
6 large eggs
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325. Lightly butter and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Combine butter and cream cheese in bowl of electric mixer fitted with paddle. Beat on med. speed till smooth, add sugar, increase speed to high, beat until light and airy, about 5 min. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition, scraping sides of bowl with rubber spatula as needed. Add vanilla, then flour and salt all at once. Beat just till incorporated. Pour batter into prepared pan, shake lightly to even out top. Bake at 325 till cake is golden brown and toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean, about 1 hr. 15 min. When done place pan on a cooling rack; let cool completely. Serve at room temperature.
