8 med. sized sweet potatoes
1 tsp allspice
6 Tbs butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar (or 1/4 c. molasses)
1/2 cup raisins
2 apples peeled cored and sliced into rings

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sweet potatoes. Cool, peel and slice each potato into 4 lengthwise slices. Arrange half in buttered shallow 2 quart casserole. In a small saucepan, melt butter; remove from heat; stir in brown sugar or molasses spices and salt. Spoon some over sweet potatoes. Arrange half of apples over sweet potatoes, top with remaining potatoes and apples. Sprinkle with raisins. Spoon remaining butter mixture over all. Cover and bake at 350F until tender and well glazed. ~30-40 minutes. Serves 8
