2 envelopes yeast
1/3 c warm water
2 tsp salt
1 T cinnamon
2 - 4 T honey or molasses
2 c warm applesauce
1 c raisins - plumped in hot water
3 - 3 1/2 c flour
2 1/2 - 3 c whole wheat flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in large pan in warm water. Add salt, cinnamon, honey, applesauce and raisins. Add flour.

This recipe is obviously for the experienced baker as there are no further instructions. I would let it rise twice, divide in two and place in loaf pans to rise again. Then bake.

This is a curious recipe as there are two of them in Mom's handwriting. The first is in a steady hand which was exactly recopied in Nov. 1977 in a less steady hand. She may have recopied it to share, but that's as far as it got.
