1/4 c shortening
3/4 c sugar
1 well beaten egg
2 c sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c milk

1/2 c sugar
3 tsp cinnamon
2 T flour
3 T melted butter

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add egg and mix well.

Mix and sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture.

Spread 1/2 the batter in greased pan about 7 x 11inches.

Mix all ingredients for filling together until crumbly. Sprinkle 1/2 the filling over batter. Cover with remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining topping.

Bake in moderate oven - 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

This is a good quick coffee cake to make for a lazy day breakfast when you can linger for awhile over a second cup of coffee.
