1 pint oysters
6 Tbs cream and oyster liquor
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1 cup cracker crumbs
1/2 cup melted butter

grated cheese
1/2 cup chopped celery (optional)
1/2 cup chopped green pepper (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Drain the oysters, reserving the liquor. Combine cream and oyster liquor. Combine bread and cracker crumbs and pour melted butter over them. To assemble, plan to use 2 layers of oysters and 3 layers of crumbs, no more. Grease a baking dish and cover it with a layer or crumbs; then add a layer of oysters. Season each layer with salt and pepper and pour 1/2 of the combined cream and liquor over it. (The oysters may be sprinkled with celery or green pepper). Repeat. Top with last layer or crumbs. (will be dry - no cream/liquor). Dot it with butter and grated cheese. Bake in a 400 F oven for 20 minutes. Serves 4
