2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter
3/4 cup dried cranberries
1 cup white chocolate chips
2/3 cup buttermilk
3 tbsp. unsweetened applesauce
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/3 cup buttermilk for brushing on top before baking.

Preheat oven to 400 Whisk together flour sugar baking powder and salt. Add butter. rub in until mixture resembles coarse meal. Mix in cranberries and white chocolate chips. In a small mixing bowl stir together butttermilk , applesauce ,egg yolk and vanilla. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture or until dough forms. Roll dough into a square about
3/4 inch thick. Cut into 4 squares. Cut each square into 4 triangles. Place scones on greased cookie sheet . Brush the tops litteraly with buttermilk. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
