2 1/4 c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 c (2 sticks) butter
3/4 c granulated sugar
3/4 c packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 c (1 12 oz. bag) chocolate chips
1 c chopped nuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granualted sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Crop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake 9 - 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool.

Amy's favorite chocolate chip recipe is from the back of Nestle Semi-Sweet Morsel bag. She and the boys in their younger days enjoyed making these together. The Nestle bag calls this America's favorite cookie recipe which gets my vote.
