6 T butter or margarine
1 1/2 c light brown sugar
3/4 c evaporated milk
1 capful vanilla
1 1/2 - 3 c powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat first 3 ingredients in heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil. Let this boil two full minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool a little. Add vanilla. Add sifted powdered sugar until mixture thickens. Pour while still a little warm.

This icing is good on many kinds of cakes including spice, chocolate, carrot and other moist cakes. Aunt Louise shared this recipe with Bobbie many years ago.
