1 pound beef boneless sirloin steak, 1 inch thick
2 cans (14 1/2 ounces each) ready-to-serve beef broth
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup Brussels sprouts, cut lengthwise in half
1 cup sliced shiitake or domestic mushrooms
2 medium carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 large sweet potato, cubed (about 1 cup)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon chopped fresh or
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
1 teaspoon chopped fresh or
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

Directions:
Trim excess fat from beef steak. Cut beef into 1-inch pieces. Cook beef in 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat about 10 minutes, stirring several times, until brown. Add beef broth and pepper; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 20 to 30 minutes or until beef is tender.
Add remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
