1 scant c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
2 1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. (stick) butter or margarine
Pinch salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (9 in.) baked pastry pie shell
Cinnamon or nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
1. In heavy saucepan on low heat, stir together sugar, cornstarch, milk, butter and salt in order given.
2. Cook and stir constantly until thickened.
3. Stir in vanilla and pour in baked pie pan.
4. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
