Ingredients:  
Cream in the mixer's larger bowl: 1 c. butter
Gradually add & beat 10 minutes: 2 c. sugar
Sift separately:
3 c. cake flour, sifted twice before measuring
3 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
Add, one at a time to creamed mixture:
4 eggs
Measure in a liquid measure cup:
1 c. milk
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. almond extract, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Add flour mixture & milk mixture alternately to the creamed mixture. Pour into 3 (9 inch) cake pans that have been prepared. Bake at 350 degrees (in a preheated oven) for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean in the middle. Don't overbake. Cool in pans about 10 minutes. Remove from pans to racks to cool completely.
