Ingredients:
2 large onions, sliced
cucumbers, sliced
1 tbsp salt
1 juice glass of water
2 c sugar
1 c cider vinegar
1 tsp celery seed

Directions:
Directions:
Layer cucumbers and onions in gallon jar. Add salt and water. Let stand 1 1/2 hours. Rinse with a small amount of water 2 times. In sauce pan, mix sugar, vinegar, and celery seed together and bring to a boil. Pour over cucumbers and onions and keep in refrigerator. Let stand 1-2 weeks before using. It will look like this is not enough vinegar solution, but cucumbers and onions will decrease to about one-half. These are similar to bread and butter pickles.
