1/2 c butter
1 c light brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
3/4 c sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
heat oven to 350. Melt butter over low heat. Take from heat, blend in sugar and egg. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and stir in. Add vanilla, nuts. Spread in well greased and floured square pan, 8x8x2. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into 16 square pieces.
