Blend:
3/4 c shortening
1 1/2 c granulated sugar
3 beaten eggs
Sift together:
3 c flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
Have ready:
1 - 9 oz. package dry mince meat.
3 T water
1 c chopped nuts.

Add 1/2 of flour to sugar mixture. Add crumbled mince meat and water, then nut meats. Then add remaining flour. Drop by spoonfuls on pan to bake.

Grandma had a note at the top of this recipe that she copied it from the radio in 1939. I doubt if mince meat comes packed dry anymore, but the mince meat in a jar should suffice. Just eliminate the 3 T water. The flour may have to be adjusted to have a managable dough.
