1 c brown sugar
1 pinch salt
4 tbsp flour
1/4 tsp soda
1 c nuts
vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and put batter in greased pan (pie tin, 8x8). Bake 25 minutes
at 350. Chews will be chewy in the middle.

Ethel's Chews was named for Ethel Lee, Grandma's neighbor
for many years. Grandma shared this recipe with many
people, who later claimed that they couldn't get it to come out
like hers! Don't overcook. It should be crispy outside, moist
inside. Eat to much and you will get a tummy ache from the
sugar. Guess how I know that?
