1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups oatmeal
1 package chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together, shortening, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs. Beat until light and fluffy.
Mix flour, salt and baking soda together. Gradually beat in flour mixture and rolled oats. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 8 - 10 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes and then move to cool completely.
