You will need one 17 1/2 by11-inch baking pan, 48 brownies.
2 cups of all purpose flour
2 cups of granulated sugar
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 cup of shortening
1 cup of strong brewed coffee
1/4 cup of cocoa
1/2 cup of buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of vanilla


1 stick of butter softened
2 Tsp of cocoa
1/4 cup of milk
3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 400

In a large mixing bowl, combined the flour and sugar.
In heavy saucepan, combined butter, shortening, coffee, and cocoa stir and heat to boiling.
Pour the boiling mixture over the flour and sugar in bowl. Add the buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla.
Mix well using wooden spoon. Pour into well buttered 17 1/2 by 11 inch pan or jelly roll pan.
Bake for 20 minutes or until brownies test done in the middle.

While brownies are baking prepare the frosting. In a sauce pan combined the butter, cocoa and heat to boiling stirring constantly. Mix in the vanilla and powdered sugar stirring until frosting is smooth.
Pour warm frosting over brownies as soon as they come out of the oven. Cool and cut into 48 bars.
