1 cup sweet cream
2 cubes fresh yeast (I used 2 packets of Active Dry Yeast)
10 egg yolks
1 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons soft butter
4 cups flour
1 jigger rum
6 tablespoons sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Warm cream, add salt to egg yolks, and whip until thick. Whip butter with sugar until creamy. Put all ingredients in a large bowl. Add yeast diluted in one tablespoon sugar; mix well. Add rum, and flour and cream alternately.
Knead until blisters, set in a warm place, and let rise. Punch down, and let rise again. Put dough on floured board, and roll out dough to 1/2" thick. Cut out cakes with a glass. Let rise again, and fry in hot shortening. Place doughnuts on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
