1/2 cup shortening
2 cups flour
1 cup grated apple
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon milk
TOPPING
3 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, beat in eggs. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Stir in apples, vanilla and milk. Mix well. Put in bread loaf pan. Top with sugar and cinnamon. Bake for 1 hour at 350F.
