2/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups milk
3 beaten, egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter
Dash of salt
Chocolate: add 3 tablespoons cocoa with cornstarch.
Coconut: add 1/2 cup coconut to filling.
Butterscotch: reduce sugar to 1/2 cup and add 1/2 cup brown sugar.
Banana: slice banans in bottom of pie crust, pour filling on top.

Mix in saucepan sugar, salt, and cornstarch, stir in milk gradually. Boil until it thickens approx. 1 minute then blend in butter and vanilla.
Is great for pudding or pies.
