1 cup sugar 1 cup shortening 1 cup molasses 1 tablespoon baking soda Hot water 1 teaspoon ginger Pinch of salt 2 eggs 1 tablespoon vinegar 5 cups flour
Cream sugar, lard (shortening) and eggs. Dissolve baking soda in a small amount of hot water. Mix together remaining ingredients. For each cookie, take dough about the size of a walnut and flatten out.
