This recipe for CALIFORNIA WALNUT PIE, by Edna Owen, is from Edna's Clippings,

1/2 c brown sugar, packed 2 tbsp flour 1 1/4 c light corn syrup 3 tbsp butter 1/4 tsp salt 3 eggs 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell 1 c large pieces walnuts
Mix the brown sugar and flour in saucepan. Add corn syrup, butter and salt, and warm over low heat just until butter is melted. Beat eggs with vanilla. Stir in sugar mixture. Turn into pie shell and sprinkle with walnuts. Bake below oven center at 375º for 40 to 45 minutes or until filling is set in center. Cool before cutting.
