3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoons evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups sifted flour
FILLING
28 caramels
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
ICING
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup sifted powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar, creaming well. Add 2 tablespoons evaporated milk, vanilla and salt. Blend in 2 cups flour. Mix thoroughly. If necessary, chill for easier handling. Roll our dough, half at a time, on floured surface. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 12 to 16 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool.
FILLING: Combine in top of double boiler caramels in evaporated milk. Heat until caramels melt. Remove from heat and add butter, powdered sugar and pecans. Spread filling on baked bar.
ICING: Melt semi-sweet chocolate pieces with evaporated milk over low heat. Stir in butter, vanilla and powdered sugar. Put on top of filling and decorate with pecan half if desired.
