Cookies

2 c flour
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/4 tsp ground cloves
3/4 c butter, softened
1/2 tsp orange extract or vanilla
1/4 c honey
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda

Glaze

1 c powdered sugar
2 T milk

Directions:
For cookies, in large mixer bowl, combine all cookie ingredients. Beat a low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 1-2 minutes. Drop rounded tsps of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Remove immediately.

For glaze, in small bowl, stir together all glaze ingredients. Frost warm cookies with glaze. I just dip them face down in the glaze and let it drip a little and then turn them upright to let the glaze dry. It is very messy but you have to do it fast or the glaze dries in the bowl.

Personal Notes:
The orange extract makes this cookie. They are still good without the glaze, although the glaze softens the cookie which is very good with milk. Another second grade favorite.
