2 T flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 c milk

In a 2 c glass measure melt butter (high) 30 seconds. Add flour and salt, blending to make a paste. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly. Microwave (high) 1 minute. Stir. Microwave (high) 1 1/2 -2 1/2 minutes longer, stirring every 30 seconds until mixture boils. Stir well. Makes 1 cup.

This is the sauce I use to make Macaroni and Cheese. I just add a cup of grated cheese to the hot sauce until it melts. You can make this sauce thicker or thinner by adjusting the butter and flour only. 1 T butter and flour make a thin sauce and 3-4 T buttter and flour make a thick sauce. It is very versatile for pasta or vegetables. I add garlic or other spices for variety.
