Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Grandma prepared "Kuecheles" for Shrove Tuesday as long as she was able, which was all of our growing-up years. Mom picked up on the tradition which delighted we three "kids" as we always anticipated and received a bag each Shrove Tuesday as long as she was able, which was probably into her nineties. The recipe was saved by the next generation, the intentions were good, but as the years passed, this present generation became lax with this delightful custom. As a result, the third and fourth generation does not appreciate this Shrove Tuesday expectation. "Kuechele" means little cake or donut; therefore, "Fastnacht Kuechele" is the perfect name for these little treats.
