2 c sugar
2 c sour milk
3 c flour
2 tsp allspice
1 tsp cloves
2 tsp soda in milk
1 c shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg

Mix shortening and sugar; add spices to flour and add alternately with milk to first mixture. Pour into baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until firm on top. Frosting: Melt 1 cup butter; add 2 cups brown sugar, boil; stir 1 minute. Cool, add cup milk and beat until smooth. Beat in about 3 cups powdered sugar, or more if needed for right consistency.
