Filling:
4 lbs.of Granny Smith Apples
Approx. 1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. butter (cut into pieces)
Cinnamon to taste

Pie Crust:
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. Crisco
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 egg
1/2 c. Water

Directions:
Directions:
Make the pie crust first. Once it's mixed well form it into 4 balls and refridgerate it until you are ready to roll it out. If you're only making one pie, you can freeze the remainder of the dough. Roll out the dough and gently place it into a 10" pie plate making sure there is dough hanging over the edge of the plate. With a fork poke a few holes in the dough so that it dosen't bubble up while baking.

For the filling:
Spread about 1/4 c. sugar over the dough
Peel and core the apples. Slice into wedges about 1/4" thick. (note: the thicker the apple wedge, the longer it will take to cook).
Layer the apples in the pie plate so that you have one layer of apples, sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, flour and dot with butter and repeat until the pie plate is full.

Roll out the top crust and place it over the apples and seal the edges of dough together with a fork.
Cut vent holes in the center of the pie. Bake at 325º for one hour. Cool and serve.
