1/2 lb butter
1 lb carton small curd cottage cheese
1/2 tsp salt
2 C sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Have all ingredients at room temperature. COmbine in large mixing bowl and beat until smooth and elastic with electric mixer. Chill several hours, or overnight.
Divide dough into four parts. Roll each part into a circle one eighth inch thick, on a lightly floured board. Cut into pie shaped wedges (do not make too small)
Roll each wedge from wide side to pointed end. Place one inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350) for 20 minutes. ( I always bake them a little while longer).
Frost when slightly cooled.
FROSTING:
1 T soft butter
1 1/2 C powdered sugar
1 1/2 T cream (milk)
1/2 tsp vanilla
Combine until thoroughly blended and smooth.

I have made these many, many times over the last 20 or 3o years and there are never any leftowvers. It is a recipe that requires a lot of "tweaking", but I have submitted it exactly as it was originally printed.
