1) 3 c sugar
2) 1 1/2 c shortening
3) 1 c milk
4) Mix 2 tsp baking soda dissolved in hot water and mix with 2 1/2 c applesauce
5) 1 tsp salt
6) 4 - 5 cups of flour (enough to make a stiff batter)
7) 3 tsp baking powder
8) 2 c raisins seeded
9) 1 c walnut kernels

Directions:

This cake is prepared by adding the above ingredients as they appear. Flour raisins and walnuts before putting in batter. Add 2 tbsp ground cinnamon. Bake in 2 tube pans. Line the bottom of the tube pans with wax paper and spray the side. Cook 1 hour or until done at 300
