2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
ICING
1 stick butter
4 tablespoons shortening
1/3 cup sweet milk
1 box powdered sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together in large bowl 2 cups flour and 2 cups sugar. Bring to boil 1 stick butter - 1/2 cup shortening - 4 tablespoons cocoa, and 1 cup water. Pour over flour and sugar mixture and stir well. Add 1/2 cup buttermilk, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon baking soda and mix well. Makes 2 9" x 13" pans.
Bake 15 - 20 minutes at 400. Start icing 5 minutes before cake is done.
ICING - 1 stick butter, 4 tablespoons shortening and 1/3 cup sweet milk. Melt together and bring to boil. Remove from heat add 1 box powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat well, spread on cake while hot. Leave in pan.
