2-1/2 cups beets 1/3 cup sugar 2 teaspoons cornstarch 1/4 cup vinegar 1/4 cup liquid from beets 1 tablespoon butter
Drain beets, reserving liquid. Combine sugar and cornstarch. Put liquid from beets and vinegar in saucepan. Add sugar and cornstarch mixture to liquid and stir over low heat until thickened. Add beets and butter and heat.
