4 quarts berries Juice of 1 lemon 6 apples 3 cups sugar Salt to taste
Wash and stem berries. Add a little water, cook and mash until fine. Cook apples and mash them and add to berries. Cook all together for a few minutes and just before taking from stove add lemon juice. Cook a minute or two then put in jars and seal them. When you use for a pie, add 1 tablespoon flour per pie and add more sugar.
